Detailed Description
The great singer has a dark complexion, well round nose and
drooping moustaches. his face is turned to the right. He wears a
golden pagri, dupatta, kamarbad and a long jama reaching the
ankles and purple slippers. It is made Syah kalam drawing.
He was
among the Navaratnas (nine jewels) at the court of the Mughal
Emperor Jalal ud-din Mohammad Akbar. Akbar gave him the title
Mian, an honorific, meaning learned man.
